"First Fire!" at Avangard Malz AG's

| Sustainable Process Energy for Germany's Largest Malt Producer A significant milestone at the Port of Bremen: On January 27, January, the new biomass-heated steam plant with cogeneration was lit for the first time at the Avangard Malz AG's Bremen location.

Kohlbach had the pleasure of realizing this challenging project together with our strong partner, Schmidmeier NaturEnergie GmbH.

The plant delivers:

  • 54,400 MWh of heat per year
  • 9,700 MWh of electricity per year

With 9,000 kW of nominal heat output, 12,500 kg/h of steam output, and modern turbine technology, the extremely high energy requirements of malt drying are efficiently and CO₂-neutrally met. The use of used wood A I/A II underlines the consistently sustainable approach.

A strong example of how industrial process heat, climate protection, and economic efficiency can be successfully combined.

How can I help?
